Did you know? Vacation Carryover

OCOT (OPS below)

From Article 20 of our Collective Agreement:

20.1: A full-time employee shall earn vacation credits at the following rates:

a)      One and one-quarter (1 ¼) days per month during the first eight (8) years of continuous service.

This amounts to 15 days or 3 weeks for all full-time employees with a seniority date of less than 8 years.

20.5: An employee may accumulate vacation to a maximum of twice his or her annual accrual but shall be required to reduce his or her accumulation to a maximum of one (1) year’s accrual by December 31st of each year.

This means you may carry over up to 3 weeks of vacation time per year. If anybody is confused about this, please consult their Local Steward.
