GMM: Dinner, Elections & STRIKE VOTE!

On the Agenda:

Local Executive Elections

We will be electing executive officers (president, vice president, treasurer and secretary), OPS stewards, and one delegate each to the OPSEU Greater Toronto Area Council (GTAC) and the Toronto York Region Labour Council (TYRLC)

If you wish to stand for election, you MUST be at the meeting OR send a proxy letter of acceptance to secretary Laura Thompson ([email protected])

Any member in good standing can stand for election.

Bargaining Updates

Both the OPS and OCOT are in contract negotiations now. Join us for an update and a look at upcoming events.

STRIKE VOTE PARTY!

A strike vote doesn't mean we're going on strike for sure, but the bargaining teams cannot use the employer's proposals as a starting point for bargaining. What the employer is seeking will cut our members too far, and too deep. We will not waste time trying to improve on this unacceptable employer opening position. They need our support to force the employer to deliver a reasonable proposal.

And, to make voting easier, Local 503 has moved its December 3rd GMM from its original location at the OPSEU membership centre to The Eaton Chelsea, 33 Gerrard Street West - in the same building the strike vote is being held in!

Dinner will be served
Lots of “swag” to give out!
And then, we go vote... TOGETHER!
